I ate nasi pecel, contains rice, noodle, steamed spinach and mung bean sprout with peanut salad dressing, sauted tempe (tempe is made from fermented soy bean), salted duck egg, fried veggie fritters and crackers. The rice wrapped with banana leaf and teak tree leaf. The aroma of banana leaf made the rice more fragranced.

Teak is a type of tree known for producing high-quality wood for furniture and build a wood house. In Indonesia, we use the leaf to wrapped food or raw meat at the traditional market.

You can ask the seller to add any protein you want with your nasi pecel order, from fried chicken, stir fried spicy beef, sunny side up egg, omellete, fried tempe, perkedel/potato fritter, etc.
