In a previous session in a game I’m running, my players met a Dilophosaurus in a cage. With the exception of one player who did their best to avoid angering the beast, it managed to land a hit on just about everyone in the party. It even landed TWO critical hits and poisoned both targets it landed them on, nearly KILLING one of them. In the most recent session, they found a ruined ship in the sky, and opted to salvage it for treasures. They ended up awakening a crew of undead, and their captain and his underlings managed to land FOUR crits between them! One of the players ended up breaking the floor beneath the captain JUST to keep himself and his party mates ALIVE! I’ve been using a set of metal dice that I purchased before the start of the campaign, so there’s nothing too special about them. Never before have I seen DICE try so hard to make a party’s life so hard. And this doesn’t account for all the times they made enemies save out of status effects or pass other kinds of saves. I’m convinced, my dice are trying to kill players.
