Is it true people from Germany won't speak to tourists who speak English? Am planning to travel to Berlin for studies. Please advise.

Haven't heard of that phenomenon so far. It might be that older generations just don't know English too well, especially in Eastern Germany where Russian was the more prominent foreign language. But when you're talking to younger ones, they'll usually switch to English immediately.

Growing up in Germany
Growing up in Germany means practically every relative of mine is a carpenter while I like acting, movies and scripts. Feels weird having so many people around you who think so differently. Makes you feel lonely. At least my American friends have been able to understand me.
