Messages disappeared

I was talking with someone the other day and it was going well. Even made plans to play on apex. However after I downloaded an update on steam I came back to the app to share my info. To find that our messages were gone, I tried to look her up on my viewed and nothing. Like she was never there. Was I blocked or unmatched? (She actually got back to me she had technical difficulties.) (edited)

Just going through something similar, we were making plans for this weekend, last thing we were chit-chatting and then poof the chat was gone. Sadly I have no other contacts from him. I cannot make sense of it, there was absolutely no reason for blocking. And I'm also thinking he might have a similar issue with his account. Was your match able to fix the issue and did the chat reappear then? He was to come from out of town this Saturday. I'm just so sad I don't know what to think.
