About doubt - 1st thoughtless rant

I hate it when people ask immediately if you have doubt about what was said or asked. How does one know if he has a doubt about something without trying to do something with the information first? Isn't it only when something contradicts what one knows to be true that doubt is generated? Or should a not completely restricted request generate doubt to fulfill all requests necessary to make sure the task is properly fulfilled. If so we could go down that rabbit hole, but we don't, we need to stop at least at common sense, or policies, rules, whatever is set by society and is somewhat accepted. If so, what is this knowledge and how do we know that we know it and to what measure can we and should we expect the other to know it. Common sense ain't so common (edited)
