Static holds help so much when preparing to max out. I static held 1,015 for 15 seconds across three sets and then a few days later attempted 500 and got it at 245BW.

I had a spinal injury last June and have finally returned to lifting. A lot of the work starts slow. If you're new to lifting don't give up. You typically won't see lasting visible changes begin until 8 to 10 weeks. Build for strength and not vanity.
