Pomegranate seeds in powdered sugar 😋

In the photo, you can see a female wasp laying eggs on the eggs of shield bugs. A few days later, the hatched carnivorous wasp larvae will burrow into these red, juicy "seeds," finding both "bread" and shelter there. They will begin to carefully eat away at their tasty shells from the inside,… read more

No, I'm not fat!

This is just the wisdom I've gained while distance learning 😇 医生建议我偶尔出门走走。 Нет, я совсем не толстый! Я в меру упитанный!

Ambushed!

I’m really excited about having encountered and snapped a shot of this ambush bug (Phymatinae) last weekend near Payson, Arizona. They are one of my favorite insects! They look like aliens!! They look so out of this world, but nah, they are right here in it with us. (edited)

Simply beautiful♥️(credit to the artist)

Lady of the night

Despite their reputation, black widows are not nearly as evil as you might think. They would much prefer to hide from you than bite you. Beach Spider

If you've ever gone to the river, you've probably been very close to a few these little wolf spiders. Fast and well camouflaged, they can be tough to notice.

A scorpion's telson

This is a telson of a hairy thicktail scorpion (P. villosus oranje). It holds a very dangerous type of venom, which can cause life-threatening systemic envenoming. Anti-venom is not effective for this sting. (𝘤𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸) (edited)

Cellar Spider

Often called "daddy long legs", these small and spindly spiders are commonly found in garages and basements. Harmless to us, they offer very good pest control as payment for rent.

Barn spider

A very common and famous orb weaver, this is the spider that Charlotte from Charlotte's Web was based on.

This unfortunate ladybug provided a very hearty meal for this lucky cellar spider.
