For me, it's my last name...pronounced exactly like licorice--yes, the candy (which I love--the [original] black, if you must know...lol). The most interesting part about that is: When I was younger, people seemed to relish shouting it out, making jest and songs about it. As an adult, people that don't know me (and have to read it from a form/paperwork) almost seem to *refuse* to say it the way it's pronounced; and when I correct them, they're insistent, "I was thinking that...but didn't think that could be it." 🙄🙄🙄 Which, I bet, is just lies and saving face. But I appreciate the surname/nickname nonetheless. If for no reason than how unique it is, because every person I have come across with the same name is a blood relative. (edited)
