Can I be happy?

People dont understand the amount of time and love that goes into Caregiving for the elderly. I take care of my grandma and have been with her in the hospital. It has taken so much out of me while she's been here. I just wish I had someone to vent to

Goals for 2026

I always hated bad weather. I felt kind of annoyed because of it. I thought to myself, can that day get any worse, and not to my surprise, it totally did.

Now everything feels different. Everything around seems to be too calm, and frankly speaking I don't like it. I know that it's quiet before the storm, but I love the storm.

I haven't figured out what it is that changed inside me, but for some reason general chaos takes away the agitation. I'm not sure, if my brain tries to compensate for something I currently lack.

Lately I've been enjoying walks during the rain.

I only had one relationship so far in my life.

All the bright places was to only romance movie that we watched together, I still remember how much I related to Theo.

When I started taking meds for anxiety and depression she said it was because I was not trying hard enough, if I just tried harder I wouldn't need them.

Trying to help myself got me judged instead of encouraged, so for a long time, as I did with many other aspecs of my life, I just stoped trying.

Im still in the process of allowing myself to even try to improve.

For the past few months, there has been something about Eastern Asian culture that fascinated me. I've been using chopsticks to eat in order to improve my hand movements and accuracy, I even started doing origami.

Japanese philosophy is what caught my attention recently. I've read about Kishi Kaisei, Wabi Sabi and some other methodologies, but yesterday Kaizen caught my attention, a philosophy used by Toyota as an implementation of Masaaki Imai's The Key to Japan's Competitive success. At first I thought Kaizen means something like continuous improvement, which evidently is often mistaken with the word Kairyo. Kairyo seems to be an external result, to which Kaizen, the recognition of one's own mistakes and internal sacrifices for the sake of perfection, or rather direction (?).

This philosophy makes me think about whether or not one should stress about imperfection, which would be a contradiction to Wabi Sabi, or should we try transforming imperfection into perfection, while also accepting we could never reach perfection?

No, I don't watch anime, nor do I get overly obsessed with some modernistic cultural movements, that makes people interested in Eastern Asia. It's just that their ways of thinking are so calming, it makes me wanna become a samurai 😅.

Kaizen

If we look at the "Looking for..." options, the full term is "Short-term Fun" and not "Short-term Relationship". Sometimes I wonder if people are defining and interpreting these terms differently because of the missing keyword. Anyway, here are my interpretations:

"Long term partner" sounds like they're only looking for someone special to bond with and ready to share their future, hoping for something that'll last at least a few years to a lifetime.

"Short term fun" sounds like they're only looking for temporary connections and pleasures, something that'll last a few hours to a few months max. Fast-food Love.

"Long term, open to short" sounds like they want a serious partner with commitments but also like to have casual flings with no ties at all. 

"Short term, open to long" sounds like they prefer casual flings but will consider if they meet someone special. 

"Friends" sounds like they want something without romance or attraction involved, strictly friends with zero benefits other than emotional support.

"Friends and Dating" sounds like they're looking for romance but prefer to start as friends and okay with things like platonic relationships and slow burn romance.

What are some small things in everyday life that you find let you be happy in the moment it provides? 

Some of mine are looking up and seeing what patterns/ formations the clouds are making and how it contrasts with the color of the sky. Or seeing two animals interact, even if it's just two common brown birds. Another big one is seeing how sunlight casts through the leaves of trees (that's my favorite!)

Sometimes I think my slogan should be where there is light there is Sarah 😜🌞🤭🌻 the way I just react instinctively on everything related to sun yellow sunshine light sometimes even surprise myself ☀️🤭💛
