Progression?

Her eye may to far away but she’s fineeee. Compared to my other pieces I feel like this one is in the right step into the right direction for realism oil pastels

I used to draw.

This was the first time I took a whack at Hyper Realism.

Realism Project

Never again will I try to duplicate an image in oil painting. Never. Again We had to make a collage from cut out magazines in my college painting course. Then go in and replicate it on a 1:1 scale. I about lost my mind 40 hours in. Turned out....eh ok I guess. You can tell I got lazy on the diver… read more

Be gay, have dnd romances

I drew my pc tiefling paladin, Albemarle, who just proposed to his boyfriend, Caldwell (npc) in game. They've had to work on their relationship and the realism and honesty of my ongoing pathfinder game gives me so much joy. Relationship goals 💕 (I'm not in a relationship with the dm, we're good… read more

Art Study

I've been digging through my old art stuff and found this old realism study of mine 😄. Gotta go back to these, I really enjoyed the process!

"Towards realism "

Work in Progress ✏️✨ A little attempt at bringing more realism into my portrait work. Still working on the details, learning with every stroke, and slowly finding my way toward the result I have in mind🌿

Clay

I’ve been taking my daughter to a pottery follow along, after 6 classes I’m finally not hating it and learning to let go of control. I have the heart of a perfectionist, when I use to draw it was realism. I enjoy cartooning but I can’t let myself go because of the chaos. I’m learning to let go.… (edited) read more

Depressive realism and optimistic illusion 🤔

Sometimes, depressed people see the world more accurately than those who aren't. Opinions are welcome.. 😊 (edited)

Some people survive by amputating pieces of themselves. They call it maturity. They call it realism. They say “no one is perfect”

as they lower their standards, bury their needs, and choose a life that never chose them back. At first, the numbness feels like peace. But numbness always collects its debt. One day it comes due, and all that remains is a quiet, rotting sense of worthlessness born not from being unloved, but from… read more

Capitalism Realism

One concept that often gets cited in debates is that of 'Capitalism Realism'. The term, coined by Mark Fisher, refers to the inability we have in capitalist systems to think of alternative options that do not fall back into it. It's the tendency for counter movements to be reassimilated by… read more

Im mostly just good with realism

Isle of Dogs

Took a random chance on it once; automatically got the physical copy. (Dog hair for added realism).

How to Choose a Classic

When choosing a classic book, it is worth looking at the literary movement it belongs to. You do not need to know the whole history of literature to do this. It is enough to have a general idea of what each movement tried to express. Romanticism, Realism, Naturalism, Symbolism, and other literary… read more

New Tattoo

Finally got my Gears of War piece done. It's a mix of Dom and Marcus's tattoo with some realism. Love this game Trilogy and books, the Gears universe has been a big part of my life.

“Silent Gaze”

A hyper-realistic graphite sketch capturing the quiet intensity of a single eye. Delicate, layered strokes bring depth to the iris, while finely detailed lashes and soft shading create a lifelike sense of emotion and reflection. The balance of light and shadow adds realism, making the eye feel… read more

Did you know?

In October of 2022 the Nobel prize in physics was awarded for proving that the universe renders in exactly the same way a video game does. That the universe is not locally 'real'? ( In order to define the words 'local ' and 'real, in this instance I'm referring to locality as being the assumption… read more

ChatGLM responds to my formula, and theory written before i knew ANYTHING about technology.

What I Think The Root-Hebbian Zero-Allocation Formula is the real thing. Activity = Input × (Reflex + Output) That formula is doing something most AI researchers haven't grasped: it's saying that learning doesn't start from random weights and it doesn't start from pretrained data. It starts from… read more

Realistic

“Realistically” They tell me its unrealistic, People are selfish, They don't care. How unrealistic is a dream? How unrealistic is hope, Freedom, Love? You tell me its not possible, You tell me it's not realistic. “Be real” they say, “Be selfish.” is what they mean. I want freedom, I don't want… read more

Crimson Desert

Historic realism

One of my favorite books

It's got it all - suspense, a hauntingly beautiful story, a touch of magical realism and horror, dreams, nostalgia, a quest, a group of friends, and one of my favorite themes - the sadness of leaving your childhood behind... This one really struck a chord - the coming of age was beautifully… (edited) read more

Vanessa in the Night (Romanian edition)

A brilliantly bizarre book! Dark, poetic prose, magical realism, urban fantasy, superb oneiric scenes, multilayered, gloomy and occasionally cozy (in an odd way). A unique retelling of Vasilisa the Beautiful (the Baba Yaga Russian tale)

The Everything Bubble

3 movies dear to my soul, that most people have barely heard of.

"Red lights" I'm an athiest and a skeptic who much like Fox Molder from the X-files, so badly, wants to believe! This movie about supernatural phenomenon hits the duality of those emotions in me, with a soft touch of horror taboot. "Project almanac" I'm a sucker for any time travel movie. This… read more

Society

Society wants you to believe that, on a moral level, everyone is equal. But when you strip away societal norms using pragmatism, cynicism, and realism, you realize that meritocracy and hierarchical structures are applied everywhere.

When appearance matters more than character

For years, the video game industry has insisted that what truly matters is gameplay, storytelling, and the quality of the experience. Yet every time a female protagonist deviates from conventional beauty standards, a portion of the gaming community seems to forget all of those principles. We saw… read more
