A small island of tranquility

I started to love the silence in night. Not because of its tranquility, but because it's the time when you can allow your unsaid thoughts to devour you slowy, making you scream into the void until you can't feel anything, only emptiness.

"Happiness is man's greatest aim in life. Tranquility and rationality are the cornerstones of happiness."

For Epicurus, true happiness isn't indulgence; it is ataraxia (peace of mind) and aponia (the absence of physical pain). He taught that we achieve this by limiting unnatural desires (like wealth and fame) and instead embracing simple pleasures, deep friendships, and self-sufficiency.
