Little Village

A tiny village to get pleasantly lost in. I built up these rounded little houses with ink, tucked shadows along their edges, then added green to the pointed trees. A worker going home after a late shift in Yaletown. As they step under the fluorescent street light, their body aligns perfectly with the balloon art on the brick walls. The strings of the balloon are linked to the head. It represents the mind floating free, escaping the monotony of work society

Jeff Koons

I know, I know, but Jeff Koons’ stuff has always spoken to me. I met him a few times in the 90s, and yes, he’s insufferable, but Michael and Bubbles and Balloon Dog are incredibly charismatic objects. I really wanna go to Bilbao and see Puppy.
