Im trying to learn how to homebrew a class and it's a lot to cover. Does anybody have tips on homebrewing or balancing a class?

This may be a little self indulgent but I'm homebrewing a world and next is naming the currency. I have ideas but it got me thinking... so whats your favorite fictional currency? Fallout's caps? FF 'S gil? Dbz's Zenny?
