These wee beans had a pretty rough start. Mama Bambino birthed two super ginger kittens, Loki and Yggdrasil "Yggie" but then couldn't birth Jormungandr "Jorry". We had to rush her to the vet for X-ray and C section surgery. Jorry was too big for tired mama to birth. On the X-ray he was stretched all out, tail under her diaphragm and head in her pelvis, because his amniotic sack had already burst and allowed him to stretch too far. Typical of the World Serpent! LOL Unfortunately, Yggie got an abscess in his wrist so bad it separated his wrist bones and swelled his tiny paw so bad we couldn't see where his fingers were. We had to open and flush the wound, which brought the swelling down, but he developed another cyst at his belly button. He was just too tiny and we had no more funds (mama vet bill was $700!) to take him in. Eventually his major organs failed and he passed away. He will be buried alongside a puppy we recently lost to Parvo. If you have pets, of ANY kind, I urge you! Start a savings account for vet bills!! Even a few dollars a week saved up can help! Between Bambino's surgery, and treatments for puppies that were surrendered/dropped on us sick with Coccidia and Parvo, we ran up a huge bill. Luckily, the vet allows us to make monthly payments.
