Went with a punch cut like I usually do on the big gauges.
Hint of spice and fruit before lighting. 
Definitely some pepper on the foot, along with a profile that reminds me of Latikia pipe tobacco, but you really have to draw deep to catch it.
I mostly smoke maduros, so it's nice to have to work to discover the flavors for a change instead of being beat in the face with them 😉

Unlit: Full body, hint of chocolate on the tip of my tongue and black licorice on the back.

Lit: a bit tangy, looses most of the aromatics present before lighting, which is not unusual since it isn't "flavored", and finishes on a light almost effervescent note that likes to climb into my nostrils.

Not unpleasant, definitely different, and overall enjoyable after I paired with some Earl Grey tea.

The ritual of sitting down to smoke a cigar: prepping the cigar ( cutting or punching the end and adjusting the draw), the toasting of the foot, lighting and fostering the cherry, and, finally, the smoke slows down my afternoon and acts as a breakpoint between my day and my evening. It has become a cherished oasis of peace in each day. Am I alone in this?

The ritual

The wrapper tingles my lips before even lighting it. 
Drawing through it reveals a woody flavor. 
Upon ignition, black pepper rolls over my tongue. 
After a puff the black pepper retreats to allow a hint of vanilla on the finish.
