Hypothetically which one do you choose?

In this scenario, either you or a loved one has a serious illness (cancer is the big one, but it could be anything that is slowly killing the person). There is a medical trial for the cure (which means half of the participants get the experimental serum and the other half get a placebo (control group)). You have the choice to whether you (or the loved one) is put in the experimental group (50% chance of curing, 50% chance of rapid growth of illness) or be in the control group (have to wait it out for the trail to complete and then will get the cure that will work). Which one do you choose?

Content in Fiction: Sex vs Violence, Death

Why is violence and death more tolerated than sex and lewdness? Sex is generally considered a part of life but is less tolerated in fiction, explicitly speaking. Violence is generally frowned upon in life but things like Saw, Hellraiser, and John Wick not only exist but are celebrated. (Don't get me wrong, I am fond of the last two at least) Why is explicit depictions of violence tolerated but explicit depictions of sex not?

Human hubris of keeping Earth in statis.

Nature is change and evolution. The Earth was different 100 years ago, 1000 years ago, 10000 years, 100000 years ago, 1000000 years ago. The concept of "invasive species" and "climate change" are 100% human invented concepts and go against the natural order of change and evolution. Call it what it really is, forcing nature to human standards and keeping it from changing, but don't say you are trying to "save the planet." We have only been here for a blink of an eye in a cosmic sense. And nothing short of a planet cracking doomsday weapon is going to change that.

Humans evolved naturally and are a part of nature...

...therefore anything we do is also natural and part of the Earth. A beaver builds a dam and blocks a river, changing its environment and everything down river drastically. Yet it isn't called artificial or unnatural. So why is it classified thusly when humans do it? We just do it better.

Fiction =/= reality.

The only rules that apply to fiction are those imposed upon it by its creator. Indulging in any kind of fiction type does not mean you condone it in real life. For example. People can like war movies but not like real war let alone want to be a part of one. People can like porn but not want to screw everything that moves. People can like murder mysteries but not want to be criminals. ...to name a few examples. Fiction is used to explore what otherwise would not or should not be possible for you to experience without actually partaking.
