My first ever D&D character was a homebrewed Yordle that used the Gnome stats as a jumping off point. She was a Ranger Rogue hybrid named Merri who did a lot of tinkering and inventing on fringe science. Being in a higher fantasy session meant her firearms and other such works were nearly alien to both the party AND all the NPCs. What was your first character?

Mine was a Bard/Rogue Harpy which was based off the Aarakocra race but modified from +1 WIS to +1 CHA. She was raised from birth by kind-hearted adventurers. Her father a Thief Rogue, and her mother a Loremaster Wizard. She went off to go adventure on her own with her best friend (a Sorceror/Paladin Gnome) to try to follow in her parents' footsteps. She lead to a few funny, yet strategically sound moments, such as launching her best friend as a gnome missile to have the latter cover more ground.

Danvir T'aeir, Dark Elf, Undead Warlock, Homebrew world so drow weren't a thing. His Patron was his teacher who taught him alchemy introducing him to magic and changing his life from a simple farm boy into someone who can change his destiny. Would become very egotistical and view himself as a lot more powerful than he was due to lack of magic in the world. Would make a group of knights (Knights of T'aeir) and would pay bards to makeup and sing tales of their brilliance in the battlefield to spread his (fake) reputation. His "knights" were armored undead skeletons with full plate helmets and Danvir claimed they took a vow of silence. He would fight in the ear for the empire whilst working against the empire (and party) by trying to reignite the elven kingdom (with him as the ruler). Freed an ancient god dragon that would terrorize the empires capital and kill millions causing strife in the party. Sold his soul to a devil to gain more demon knights to kill another dragon. Was a fun campaign.
