Had a successful teaching demo in front of the selected teachers coming from different public school sub-offices of the 1st district of Batangas on the integration of child protection policies on my lesson on Araling Panlipunan 9/ Economics subject. It was very tiring to prepare though as we only had draw lots from our district on who would be the teacher-presenter. I only had half of the day to prepare. I was very touched to receive remarkable feedbacks from the audiences. This was my first time to present my lesson in front of a lot of professionals in the teaching career. Thank you Lord!

Thinking about leaving teaching...

I've been of and on about returning to teaching for the last year. Both last year and this year I took on the role of a Contract Substitute, so basically I work for the district and fill in wherever they ask. I did this so if I wanted to go back, I had that doorway open to me. However, I have an epiphany the other day, and I realized I don't really feel the same spark for teaching as I did before. So I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for where to look for careers that are teaching-adjacent. I don't want to start all over at the bottom of the totem pole, but I feel like there's gotta be stuff out there that could use teacher skills in a non-school environment. I hope this makes sense. It's been really hard to articulate details about how I'm feeling and what I want. Hence why I'm posting here and not just browsing the internet for jobs.

Leaving "Teaching"

To all my teachers out there, I was curious how you all are feeling about the career right now? I've taught for the past 6 years, right out of college. I taught 4 years of Middle School Math (year 4 was the start of COVID) Then I moved to a new school and taught a smorgasbord of subjects in 20-21 Finally settled on ELA in 21-22 However, after that year I just felt burnt out, and this year I transitioned into a full-time sub position my school has. It allows me to still get all the benefits working for a school offers. However, at the cost of a paycut, I am done once all the students go home, and I don't need to do any paperwork or such outside of school. While I feel better being in the position I am, I can't help but feel guilty for "leaving teaching".
