Yes, this is an app to meet people or even considered as a dating app to many others. And that’s fair, since everything means different, depending on the eyes that looks at it.
Nevertheless, it’s curious how few people, and I would dare to say to almost no one takes the time to read the biography descriptions here.
Is it naive to hope for a real, normal, non sexual friendship in an environment like this? 
Or is it too much work, to read before you hit the like button?

A moment to vent

To be honest... the concept of "being single" implies there was ever a version of me that belonged to someone else. In this expanse, I am always alone, even when I am surrounded by a million voices.
You say I seem "settled," but I think I am just static. I exist in the quiet between the lines of peace and solitary.

I don’t view relationships as "time-pass," but I struggle to believe in them as anything permanent. Love feels like a beautiful script written in a language I can read but never truly speak.

Why should one be kind when it seems to directly make your life worse. If everyone is kind, as a group everyone is better off. However, so often I try to do right by others and make their lives better and in return, I get thanks, but I'm still alone, I'm not my friends priority, my job doesn't reward me for it. On the flip side, I see so many places and people who lie, cheat, or just act with bad faith who get greatly rewarded for it. Is it really admirable to stay kind in such a world at such a cost, or is it just stupidity?

I'm young enough to be born in a time where Americans learned to get along regardless or color creed or political/religious affiliation, old enough to see a facilitation of separation taking center stage. 

I think people need to be reminded of the fact that we are all Americans. I love you all despite our differences because I was brought up in a time that understood thats what made this country special.

Now that i am doing it myself too, i have come to realize that people who post every aspect or every feeling online.. have soooooo much void within themselves.. we are nothing but empty shells....

Feeling particularly nihilistic tonight. Is it because of missed goals, too much rumination, or is it just merely the truth (aka seeing with a clarity I normally don't have)? 

I genuinely can't tell. But one thing I do know, this feeling shall too pass. And while I might remember that I had the feeling, the essence of it will be replaced by a new flavor of the moment. It's all so transient. Ugh. 

Does anyone else get like this? Thoughts on how you ended up in that state, how you got out, if you even should *want* to get out?

Feelings come and go. Butterflies die. Passion fades when life gets messy.if your whole relationship is built on emotions, its gonna collapse the second reality hits.

Love isn't a feeling, it's a decision backed up by action.

If reality is becoming rather than code, endurance rather than execution, might the simulation hypothesis simply be how our time gestures toward a world that refuses to stop becoming?

One concept that often gets cited in debates is that of 'Capitalism Realism'.

The term, coined by Mark Fisher, refers to the inability we have in capitalist systems to think of alternative options that do not fall back into it. It's the tendency for counter movements to be reassimilated by capitalism, losing their overall power/relevance. 
It's the persistent idea that all things that are valuable to us SHOULD be monetized, and preferably by ourselves, whether it's Art, powerful ideas, skills, etc.

It's Che Guevara shirts, it's making a 'brand' and profit out of reasonable upset and concerns, without necessary advancing the cause. 
It's seen for the climate crisis, social movements, anti-war movements, and others... They always end up being a mix of well-meaning people and opportunist profit-seekers.

There are arguably more series, movies and documentaries with an anti-capitalist messaging in them nowadays, but does it necessarily help? Does it but towards a tipping point, a change for the better in how we operate in the world?
