Best scifi books

What are your top 3 scifi books or series? Mine are: The Hyperion Cantos - Dan Simons Dune - Frank Herbert The left hand of darkness - Ursula LeGuin. Or Solaris - Stanislas Lem. Or A long way to an angry little planet - Becky Chambers. (Yes, I cheated) (edited)

anybody here read the Three Body Problem trilogy?

Im trying to find another scifi book with that level of scale and social political aspects. Currently reading the Expanse and Hyperion series

Reading across different genres...

There are many many books out there these days. On the one hand - good, lots to choose from, on the other - difficult to find people who have read (let alone liked) same books you did. So how about we try to look for such people? Here are a few examples of the genres I read and examples of… read more

time to make a fool of myself and share something pointless lmao

A Timeline Of The Solar Diaspora Era I: The Terrestrial Collapse & The Lunar Crucible (2060–2130) 2064 – The Climate Crisis: Earth exceeds +2°C of warming. Decades of brutal global resource wars, failed “net-zero” initiatives, and over a century of antinuclear activism left grid networks reliant… read more

Hyperion series Really well written science fiction

Any good sci-fi fantasies people recommend?

I've read dune and I'm planning on getting the hyperion books for myself at Christmas but other than those 2 Ips what do people recommend?

Max damage almost perfect Hornet pistol!

In my years of playing Borderlands 1 I've never seen a Hornet with stats this good not even from Crawmerax the invincible I found this in a red chest in the Hyperion gift shop. (edited)

Took a break

I'm gonna be hopping back on after the New Year. I'm spending time in home town with relatives currently. Anybody play on Hyperion? I'm trying to be more proactive about talking to people in-game.

What brand are you loyal to?

Through out the whole series what brand of death and destruction are you loyal to? Personally I did my first play through of the Pre-sequal Hyperion only and I got to say because of that I'm kinda loyal to Hyperion

A somewhat underrated sci-fi series

I've always sort of known about Hyperion, but in the back of my mind. I selfim have seen people talking about it as much as say, Dune or the Expanse or Foundation. There's a whole lot going on in this series so I don't want to say a ton for fear of spoilers but I will say that the shrike, named for… read more

Worst Books Ever...?

What is a book you've read that was supposed to be GOOD but after you finished it you thought "hey this isn't a good read at all... I will never get that time back a spent reading it." For me: Hyperion. It was well written and interesting but after I finished, I keep thinking what the hell did I… read more

Rarest (Legendary guns) in Borderlands 1

Yes I said specifically rarest legendary guns the Nemesis pistol with an invader scope is a pearlescent weapon and doesn't count. In my many years of playing Borderlands 1 with over 10,000 hours played. The top 3 rarest legendary guns are: 3 The Hyperion Invader pistol. 2 The Ogre machine gun… read more

Looking for friends

I play on primal, exodus, Excalibur, and hyperion and I am looking for ppl to be friends with and play with

A good "Superman"

DC's Superman was an interesting concept. An ultra powerful person who doesn't get morally corrupted by their power. But a lot of people thought that was unrealistic, and wanted to make something "original". So Brightburn, Invincible, Megamind, Ikaris, Hyperion, and The Boys were made. The… (edited) read more

On This Day in History - July 19, 1940

July 19, 1940 #OTD World War II: Battle of Cape Spada: British destroyers HMS Hyperion, HMS Hasty, HMS Ilex, and HMS Hero engaged Italian cruisers Giovanni dalle Bande Nere and Bartolomeo Colleoni. Hyperion

Anyone have recommendations for books in a similar style to Hyperion? (by the way highly recommend)

Diy Ambilight

Hyperion + wled

Hyperion skończony

Opowieść o pielgrzymce do miejsca gdzie pracuje potężny tajemniczy byt.

Any series like the expanse

Looking for another series that kinda line up with the style of the expanse. Not any crazy sci Fi if possible. One grey goo is fine. I did finish the first Hyperion book and that was ok but a little bit too many crazy sci Fi things going on.
