If you you could be any Mythical creature what would you be and why?

Medusa

Do you think her ability to turn others to Stone was a gift or a curse. I feel it was a gift because she is used as a symbol for women's shelters

What if we all descended from fae but that history was destroyed and only fragments remain aka stories? And our imagination is the last bit of magic left that's why it can be so potent?

Any inhuman being counts for this. But no direct deities and Gods, like Anubis for example.
