(Even if they don't know what the wrong person looks like) Due the emergence of overly public relationships (including family life influencers and parental influencers) we basically see the ins and outs of others and pick/choose what we want to see in ours. It's a defense mechanism that we think help improve the probability of success for our own relationships. However, this isn't attainable in vivo.
