I think, but could be wrong, at the battery can still be replaced it's just a massive pain in the ass cuz they make it hard to find the seams on your case. It does come open though. That said they probably made it as hard as possible like they did with laptops. I recently had to explain to my roommate that the reason he couldn't use his laptop anymore is because the battery was dead. "Well I plug it into the wall", sorry dude but that power now routes through the battery... So if your battery is completely dead your computer isn't going to work, and no I am not going to fix your computer.

They have kits for opening the phone the reason why the phone is not opening easily is because ppl want to use it in the water

All mine have removable ones, I don't buy anything unless it can be TRULY shut off without using a hammer/dropping it in a lake.
