You search for the right words, translate sentences, simplify your thoughts, repeat yourself in different ways and anything just to keep the conversation alive. Effort becomes your bridge when language fails. But there comes a quiet moment when you start to notice something.

You’re the one trying to understand.  
You’re the one adjusting.  
You’re the one carrying the conversation forward.

And on the other side, there’s little to no effort coming back.

That’s when you realize something important: communication isn’t just about language. It’s about willingness. Two people don’t need perfect words to connect they just need equal intention.

So if you find yourself being the only one trying, it’s okay to stop.

Not out of anger.  
Not out of pride.  
But out of respect for your own energy.

Let the conversation go where it wants to go even if that means letting it fade. The world is full of people who will meet you halfway, people who will try just as hard to understand you as you try to understand them.

And sometimes, instead of forcing a connection, the best thing you can do is leave the door open… and walk forward.

Because the right conversations don’t feel like you’re carrying them alone.

Sometimes you really want to talk to someone, and even when there’s a language barrier, you still try.
