I’m reflecting on a breakup from this summer and how music helped me sort the noise from the truth. Bleeding Verse — “If You Loved Me Then” became the soundtrack: raw, loud, and honest in all the right ways. It reminded me that silence can bruise, but it also taught me what I want to be about. I believe you get what you give in this life. I’m past a lot of the hurt, and I’m choosing to keep giving love—to friends, to strangers, to myself. That’s the part I can control.

How do y'all share your time between partners and friends? How many of each?

Personally I kind of run a tight ship, enough so I couldn't really fit a new partner or free time although I need either pretty bad. Got involved with too many friends in long games and I'm too stubborn to drop off out of the blue. Probably did this to distract myself from what's truly missing.

So, I have a friend who's in a polyamorous relationship with one of our friends wife and she has another person as well. She has a husband, another partner and my friend. My friend and her have been dating since last May but all of a sudden they stopped talking. It's been a month and he's stressing wondering what he did wrong and everything. He's tried reaching out and everything and still nothing. He's stated she's still seeing her husband obviously and her other partner but not him. They haven't even seen each other as well. Granted my friend likes consistency, communication, accountability, emotional depth and deep conversations which they stopped doing and he's stated his wants and needs multiple times and has been upset when plans changing, her lack of a lot of things. He's also a person that doesn't let negative behavior kinda slide. He discusses about a lot of stuff cause communication whether good or bad to him is important. He's not perfect and he understands that. The partner and him both know they need to talk but after they acknowledged that they just haven't talked or seen him since. They stated to him they just want to exist in the relationship and need him to be okay that they can go one or two months without talking or seeing him. This person let's the pains from they past, trauma and other things dictate and run they life and really push themselves at work and such so they don't have to deal with emotions especially in a relationship. He wants to know if it's a lost cause at this point.

What's the biggest struggle you've found in living a poly lifestyle?

It feels like Madison rolls up the sidewalk at 8pm. All the cool events are on weekdays for the 9-5 crowd. Dating is awkward too. I have to either go out for a breakfast or lunch date. Being able to hang out in the evenings in rarely an option. 

I've never been a morning person and I'm not interested in being one.
