I've been seeing a disturbing trend of couples specifically hunting for a third that describe themselves as poly, and this is saddening.
No one should be looking for a disposable person to add spice to their partnership, that's not polyamory.
Similarly, limiting your partners choices while having free reign yourself is not poly, that's just insecurity and control.

We need to call these toxic behalf calling themselves poly out, because that's the image that gets passed on to others, and why there's so much misunderstanding of compersion and the joy of loving someone enough to free them.

The active mindset of loving and supporting your partner(s) in finding satisfaction doing the things (or people) they love (or like). Often countered by a need to control or possess, insecurity over access, or a fear of loss. I consider the concept of non-attached agape and how it can create a strong foundation for compersion. Some folx collect more partners to fill in the gaps, but can that sufficiently address the underlying issue?

Why do a lot of polymen only allow other women in the relationship? Isn't poly love for all genders?

I've always been monogamous. Never cheated, never glanced the other way. Fast forward to the end of my last relationship and a year of being single, I decided to start dipping my toes back into the pool.

I'm now seeing one poly girl regular and things are going great, totally fine with her situation and the freedom it offers me. More dates lined up with another soon, and even an ex from 20 years ago chatting with me.

I'm not gloating or bragging. (Though I do consider myself pretty lucky) But how come suddenly, I'm getting all this attention? Has it been so long since I've been dating that things have changed?

It could have something to do with working on myself sure. It could be with my newfound confidence. But I'm wondering what other people might make of it.

Hi. I'm new to polyamoury. Here's a poem I wrote for my Wife of 13 years, shortly after we made went poly!.. it's called Nest.

NEST

A single moment can make you forget the simple things...

The primary colours
Which ones mix together
to make the secondary ones...

It's time to experiment...

As my son is discovering all the wonders
Of sound, shadow, shapes and shades
I'm reflecting on my younger days...

Remembering all the first times...

The thrill of the chase
Holding hands
Kissing in the rain
Diving right in to love
Not knowing how deep it goes
or what it all means
Just jumping right in
With no storyline in mind...

Now I've written a book
Memorised every single line
Drafted and edited every page
A thousand times....

Yet here I sit, lost at sea
Feeling sort of aquamarine
Not quite sure what I'm supposed to do
I just meditate to the midnight blue
With faith this ain't me losing you...

I'm hanging on to every syllable you gift
Coz you've just revealed the plot twist
Whilst i'm stuck on the first page
Scouring the waves for new words...

How can I keep this under wraps
When all I want to do is shout it loud
Standing proud on the bow of the ship
With open arms, no fear of the backlash.

Shipmate, I want to see you flourish
To be the epitome of happiness
For you deserve all the joy there is

So let's fly the crow's nest
Unfurl each other's wings

Poly poem I wrote

Just a little vent. 
I am new to the poly life. I have been monogamous my whole life. So I knew jealousy may be a struggle but so far it isn't. However no one warned me about the potential guilt I could feel. Like I'm doing something horribly wrong even though I am soooooo happy. I was told to start journaling about my guilty feelings to try and find what is causing them and maybe rewire my brain I guess haha.

When the guilt is stronger than jealousy.

Where the poly couples at?!

My very best friend has been in a relationship for about a year. Her boyfriend told her today that he needs another girlfriend or he will get bored, he doesn't want her to see anyone else though. He explained this is typical for Poly or ENM relationships. Can someone help me understand? Because something in the water just isn't wet here in my opinion.

Just a quick question.
