i still don't understand why people change and love to play some games tbh

So there's a girl I'm interested in (not on app) and shes super shy and reserved. She barely speaks as well, which makes communication with her difficult some times. 

I've learned to make small talk with her through statements instead of questions, so she doesn't feel obligated to awnser like, instead of "how was your weekend" I say "weekend went by fast" leaving it open for response if she wanted. Other times I just nod and greet her so I'm not forcing conversations unnaturally.

I was thinking of writing her a note letting her know I'm interested in getting to know her more, that way she can take her time and not feel pressured or obligated in the moment. Are notes still viable?
