Maybe start off with offering to go share a conversation over some drinks or a meal, somewhere public so there isn't any pressure on either side to stick around. Again, lots of variables, but being direct would be best for me, I'm 1:dense, 2:skeptical of other's intent, 3: new to where I am at the moment so I basically know no-one or any specific place that might he hard to find if you didn't grow up or live in the area for a bit. I like being left to my own but I'm not closed off.
