I've been reading about monster of the week system lately. Seems fun and appropriate to the season;) The classes there are amusing monster hunting series cliches, like "the chosen one", or "the spooky one" and so on. 

Sketched an idea for a quest:
In a small rural town people begin to disappear. Sheriff tries to find clues, while some of the local superstitious folk blame the events on the "haunted house" attraction that rolled into town a few days ago (since it's almost Halloween). One of your team stumbles upon an article of a reporter, which claims that there is nothing haunted about that house and she will save the sheriff's department "some precious time" by proving it's only a hoax. 

So what do you think? Are you packing your monster hunting gear already?;)

Has anyone played Cyberpunk RED? I have heard the creator of the series talk about it briefly. Is it a buildable world like Dnd or is it campaign focused?

Still Playing Cyberpunk 2077 but...

I made a custom ttrpg system and campaign, and I can't find players to use it 😭
Its all set up on a desmos graph for easy understanding. But its made so that the players don't have to struggle.

I'm looking for people to help test my custom system :)

Ughhhh how does one start.

Although I do prefer Apocalypse, Forsaken is also really close to my heart as my second favorite Splat in The Chronicles of Darkness.

I find the spiritual aspect of this game to be very unique and horrifying which is a good thing because this is a horror game.

In any case I do highly recommend Werewolf The Forsaken whether it be first or second edition

Power Rangers RPG

Do you play solitaire TTRPG?
Since finding a group for the game you want might be hard, I recently turned into solo gaming. Right now, I am using Elemental system and Mythic GM Emulator for my solitaire games.

I tend to play horror famed with super dark stories, but... I need some good vibes. So, I decided to go with a sword and sourcery adventure today.

There is a monster who shows up where the disaster is, and tries to warn people. It's following an army of mages for some time. Unfortunately the portal left by ancient civilization is broken and the army is on halt. Nearby to the village my character visits. And, of course, the monster too.

People in the village is full of superstitions, and does not how what's actually happening. Neither the hero. Investigation, political maneuvers, finding the best solution for every side... Hard, surprising, full of fun!

Note: Book of Travels has a very nice OST. I highly recommend.

Solitaire TTRPG

Its has been 10 days since anyone seen the light from the son. 

Cellular communication died 5 days after. In chalet, hiding from Them, are 4 strangers who had each other company. 

Sonik, a blue haired hairdresser. She won her corporate lottery, a weekend resort stay for 2. She thought it would be a treat to bring her boyfriend, Dash. Just before their trip, Dash couldn't join as he needed to attend his reservist. 

Besides her was Steven, an Airport Security, Austin, Peter Groomer and Nasim, a resort staff. 

Rations are getting sacred and all they had are a packet of cracker and a can of Peaches. Sonik was not impressed that the resort did not stock essential. Or they have gone through as much rationed for the past 5-10 days. 

They heard a thunderous sound as though an object had slammed against a wall. Steven and Nasim went to investigate the sound.

Question

The cleric joins the group and only have a few months to live. Because every time the cleric pray to the "deity" the life force was drained. Unbeknownst to the cleric, that the symbol on the cleric body is a cursed which drained the life force. 

Once the time ran out for the cleric, cleric dies from a burning sensation and shed its human appearance and turn into a Genasi.

Is it possible to have a cleric who is actually a Warlock.

Anyone else working on their next game or campaign?

Going to try and work on some game plans for my sessions.

Anyone tried Daggerheart yet?

Has anyone had a chance to try the system. From what I've gotten from my trusted source on it, the game runs relatively smoothly, combat is quick and impactful. I've been thinking about trying it out, though if I run it, it would be in a Legacy of Kain inspired setting I've been slowly working on.

That said, what's everyone's thoughts on it?

Specifically, Old World. I find it so cool, and much more palatable than 40k in complete honesty - if 40k is every at 11, then Fantasy Old World is actually a relatively grounded take on a ye olde warhammer setting, which I adore. Also, I love the game :p

Warhammer Fantasy is fun

Do you feel different when playing in an environment suitable for the game? I always assumed TTRPG depends on imagination. However, provided it's genuine, sensory input can also be a crucial element to enrich the experience.
And, I love the sound of birds and the coldness in my skin.

Although not a separate game but a supplement for World of Darkness, Mummy is a rather interesting yet very unexplored splat within the World of Darkness.
Mummy has a fascinating take on immortality and the horrors that come with it.

The splat was made for crossover games in mind right from it's creation and thus I love using them as special NPCs in my Chronicles but I also wait for the day when I'll get to play one myself or have one as a player

Sil the Snake POV. 

Sil the Snake was in the green room waiting for her master to appear on Conan talk show. 

Conan had welcomed guest, Eminem, PitBull, Weird Al, and several guests who weren't on the A lister. Todd, Lamien and Paul(i later found out i could use celebrity.  It should be Paul Rudd, but this Paul was just a Snake Oil Merchant / Magician on the side). 

They were about to release the sequel of 8 Miles, titled 8 and a Half Mile. 

In the green room were the familiars. 2 owls, a lizard, a toad and a lizard. 

One of the owl, Hu, was munching on gummy words while HT, was afraid of height.

Hu pushed HT from the ledge, and as HT screams, sil threw the pillow and cushion HT's fall. 

On set, Conan was discussion the upcoming sequel with the unique line up and called upon a special guest. Everyone was confused and as he welcomed Blake Lively in, the crowd were cheering her up. 

Blake lively claimed that the upcoming movie, 8 and a half Mile was stolen from her and that the story was about her. As she waved her hands, all 6 guests were petrified as stone. 

The crowd cheered as she said that she will take care of the 6 guests. 

In the meantime, the greenroom door was locked. Sil tried to turn the door knob, and it was confirmed it was lock. Hu tried to unlocked the lock, however Hu only manage to scratch the lock. Trevor tried to turn the lock and the door was unlock. 

Sil slither out with the rest of them. 

Blake lively are loading 6 petrified statues into 2 trucks and it drove away. 

Sil summon a horse to chase after the truck. The horse sil summon was 7-8ft tall horse. Sil slither up the horse and wrapped its tail around HT as HT was afraid of heights and was contemplating on walking there. 

Hu perched on top of the Horse, along with trevor and a weasel. The lizard tried to persuade the horse to lift him up, the horse with its mouth, lifted the lizard. 

With a slap on the horse, the horse gave chased. It gallop through tbe busy magical streets of LA dodging ongoing traffic and leaping over a line of elementary children. The children were amazed as a horse leaped over them, with these familiars on their back. 

They managed to catch up to the trucks, however there was an iron gate that was about to close on them. The lizard cast soak and a security guard manning the place slipped and fell in between the closing gate. The gate was surprisingly the sensor kind that you see in the elevator. 

The group managed to enter the estate. Upon descend, Sil vomitted/regurtitated her meal of rats and teriyaki chicken. Sil had motion sickness. 

There was a huge door and a huge doggy hole. They entered through the doggy door. Hu and Sil went to the kitchen while the others went into another room.

Hu couldn't find a jar of gummy words, however Hu found a jar of Stevia. It went in and covered itself with stevie. Sil approached the the large bowl and consumed the stew. These stews belong to Blake's cereberus, Penny Billy Baxter. 

The Cereberus tried to attack Sil and as a form of distraction Hu tipped the Jar of Stevia. And it successfully distracted the dog. The sound of glass crashing to the ground had alerted Blake as she made her way to the pantry. Sil slithered underneath the cabinet while Hu flew out and entered the cabinet under the stairs. 

Blake reprimanded her Cereberus and locked them in the balcony and left the pantry. Sil slithered to the other room. 

In the room, there were posters of Gossip Ghouls. Apparently with malice rumours amongst themselves, had petrified the guests that Blake have petrified. Strangely, the gossip ghouls has nothing to add regarding Todd. 

Todd's lizard told the painting that Ryan Reynolds was cheating on Blake Lively. 

Hu POV

Hu was hiding in the closet and the light came on. It was Ryan Reynolds. He said that the closet was his room and that Blake doesn't allow him much freedom. Ryan Reynolds offered Hu a pizza. And Hu ate it. A sliver of magic had found its way to Ryan and his feet start to petrify. Ryan shrugged as this happened and say that it happened occasionally. 

Sil pov

Sil tried to gave a rumour."Blake lively is a nepo baby who can't act" and watched the magic sliver out the room. They sense that sending negative rumours would have a negative effect. 

Sil threated the poster to say nice things about their master and friend to reverse the petrification. It scoffed as Sil summon Hole in one of the posters.
They were petrified at the sight of a hole appearing a hole where one of the poster were but they struggled to say anything nice.

Running my first ever homebrew campaign after 30 years of DMing...it's nerve wracking.  Always looking for insight on telling horror stories in a read medium so if anyone has input I will gladly take it!

Today I got some inspiration to write up a whole new KULT: Dvinity Lost campaign. Candles lit, incense is burning, glass is filled with wine, accompanying with a nice gothic playlist 😌

Creative Day

Running a game set in warhammer 30k based on Mork Borg rules. The party comp is a bunch of nights on a medieval world that have managed to find some weapons that are “modern” relative to us. As for the ogre 
HP- 47 armor- 1d8
Cannon- 2d10, 2 turn active reload
Melee axe- 1d6 cleaver- 1d8
All my players are equipped with chain swords, save the leader who has a power sword. One of them has a browning MG, one has a 10mm smg. 
I figure 3 ogres accompanied by 4 goblins each should be a good encounter for them. (For the uninitiated goblins in Mork Borg are terrifying wretches btw) Thoughts?

Old TTRPG books

My character is an elf Cleric and the DM asked to Describe how each member know the person who hired them for the job. 

My character knows him to be a flirtatious lover who married at least 3-4 women from her village and they asked when he would be coming back to the village for the Bi yearly gathering of blessing and festivities.

I just recall one of the one shot I played.

Back when the game was still in pre-release I purchased the special collectors edition and I absolutely adore it and have gone through the whole book and admired all the fun stuff I got with it. And have yet to find a table to run it for T_T the age old pain of TTRPGs

Add another ttrpg to my collection. No I would never do that. Especially not one inspired by Digimon which only played a huge role in my childhood.

I definitely didn't...
