Stretchable Displays: Quantum Stretch
A group of scientists in South Korea led by Professor KIM Dae-Hyeong invented a new type of screen that can stretch without breaking. It's called intrinsically stretchable quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs). These screens are flexible, unlike regular ones that are stiff and can't bend. Regular screens, like the one on your phone, use something called OLED technology. OLED screens can bend a little, but they have problems like not being very bright and not showing colors perfectly. QLED screens, on the other hand, are brighter and show colors more accurately. They also last longer. Now, let's break down what QLEDs and diodes are: 1. QLEDs: QLED stands for Quantum Dot Light-Emitting Diodes. They're a special kind of screen made of tiny particles called quantum dots. These dots can stretch without breaking and still produce light. QLED screens are better than regular ones because they're brighter, show colors more accurately, and last longer. 2. Diodes: Diodes are small electronic devices that control the flow of electricity in one direction. In screens, like QLEDs, diodes help make the pixels light up. When electricity flows through a diode, it lights up the quantum dots, which then produce the colors you see on the screen. In QLEDs, the diodes are designed to stretch along with the screen, so they don't break when you bend or stretch the display. What Do You Look for in a Vehicle?
I think something practical like an SUV with sufficient cargo room, funky features that benefit me and the passenger princesses (also me usually) are a necessity. I like hiking on occasion so being able to go to spots where a car may struggle is awesome (rip switchbacks tho).
