Fall of Gondolin

Gandalf, a Maia, killed a Balrog. Ecthelion, an Elf, killed three Balrogs as well as Gothmog, lord of the Balrogs. Ecthelion overcame a greater foe while not being what is considered an Angel in comparison. Pretty impressive. (edited)
