Got myself an early birthday gift by buying these since I'm almost finishing up "The Wheel of Time" series and have never read Tolkien.

Word of warning: Do not start with the Silmarillion thinking you'll read it all in chronological order. That thing is TOUGH to get through and not a very enjoyable experience, as you have to wade through Tolkien's constant UNRESTRAINED nerd-ing out over what he thinks is cool. Both The Hobbit and LotR are good mixes of what Tolkien thought was cool, and what his editor would allow him to publish. Definitely better starting places, The Silmarillion is exhausting.

Do you like re-reading your favourite books? I find that reading book again after a few years sometimes gives you an entirely new perspective on the content. And even if not it's nice to meet the heroes and visit the places again.
