How many use Tabletop Sim to play?

I've been having the best of times with it, but it feels somewhat niche. To be fair, I don't play D&D and I'm sure that game has plenty of proprietary or sole programs designed just for it

Which VTT you are using?

We generally use Fantasy Grounds Unity for licensed modules. Especially for Call of Cthulhu 7e campaigns. They can be accessed cheaply. We also have Foundry VTT, but we only use it for GURPS 4e custom scenarios since it offers a lot flexibility and automation for the system. Right now, we are playing Ripples From Carcosa scenarios. We are at the second one.

Any DMs around here? Would like to ask for a word of advice.

My friends have been pushing me to run a Through the Breach campaign for a while now, and I finally caved in. But, even though I thoroughly studied the TTB rule set and have decent understanding of Malifaux, I have no prior DM experience. How do you usually prepare locations for your campaigns? Do you prepare an accurate layout of the map, or do you simply have a list of locations and their descriptions? Do you voice act your "NPCs", or you simply deliver what they intend to say?

Hello fellow tabletop role players, I am new to this as this is my first ever post on here, but I have something i would like to share with you all. I have written a tabletop role playing game over the course of the last eight years. I call it Epiphany and as far as I know has a few mechanics that help it stand out among other ttrpgs. Thought the system itself is simple I wonder if you would find these rules as interesting. Success and failure are both necessary to skill advancement. Added in more than one supernatural ability, so far there is Ki powers and 8 different types of magic. 6 six starting races that are not the generic elfs and dwarves Four entire worlds to explore with their own cultures and dangers. With potential to expand by adding more worlds. Mysteries in the core worlds designed to be vague enough for gamemaster to create stories around with their own flair and effect to their storylines These are just a few. I just found an artist recently after twp years of searching. And am excited to eventually put it somewhere that it can be enjoyed by the masses.

Starfinder vs SW5e?

Hey everyone! I've been wanting to run a kind of space opera / space fantasy campaign for my friends and was wondering if any of you can share their experience wih any of those systems. We've mostly played dnd5e and some pbta so I didnt want to stray too far from what we've done before. We're a roleplay heavy group and I'd love to do something that really sells the sci fi of it all. Premise of the campaign is that they're a crew brought together by an anonymous but powerful entity to escort a Holy Person through their pilgrimage through the empire's planet system. It is a tradition that's been recently revived. But not everyone wants this ritual to complete due to Reasons. Its all in beginning stages so Id liek to know which system I should go for. Before writing more about it. Any thoughts or discussion are welcome 🥰

Troll Necromancer
