What's your favorite instrument?

Concerto in B minor by Rieding

Three days I study the piece in violin. This would be my first classical piece since I always play pop or modern song. I'm finally finish the piece although it's still sight read and I don't memorise it yet. What should be the next step? Should I memorise first?

On this day 1756, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg. I recommend his 1st, 2nd and 3rd violin concertos with Danish violinist Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider, here also conducting the London Symphony Orchestra. (edited)

On this day 1809, Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy was born in Hamburg. I am listening to a record from 2008. Leonidas Kavakos conducts the Camerata Salzburg and performs Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in e minor, Op. 64.

Jascha Heifetz

On this day 1901, Jascha Heifetz was born in Vilnius. I recommend his 1959 recording of Sibelius' violin concerto which is considered one of his best recordings. Walter Hendl conducts the Chicago SO.
