Penance of a Penitent Woman I gushed out From the rivers of red Came howling and They all said Oh! She is a girl For I feel sad Felt I was a burden For the years to come I thought I cried Tears of joy To see the world In all its glory Little did I know That it was a precursor for a life so gory I started a journey of thousand years where childhood was a blur and my teenage years was just like that Suddenly a lightning strike shook my psyche I was rattled to the very deep core of my very being that questioned my every belief Was afraid of sinking to the bottom of the deepest trench with no respite in sight When I found a light deep At the end of the tunnel The journey was not smooth With bumps and twists And turns at every place And mountains to climb I traversed the deep oceans To reach a height Where I knew I was in My element Of boldness and sassiness Included To conquer the world Gone astray I was in my Natural element Of being who I was And will never bow Down to my fate!!
