Thoughts on Victorian houses?

I love the way they look. But maintenance on them is a nightmare. I don't understand why we can't use plastic-goods to replicate these style of houses in today's day in age. We have special technology to fight against wind, UV damage, hail, termites, and so on. But again, corporations love to make cookie-cutter houses. Yuck.

Newer houses are so boring and stagnant. Older homes have character, craftsmanship and a story. You can tell they've been lived in even when vacant....you can't find such charm anymore.
