The Setup

Changes on occasion. In this latest edition I've moved my server monitors next to the main PC's monitors do I don't have to walk across the room to control the server. Server, and network, are now on a solar battery backup. This is what the pursuit of 100% uptime has done to me 😂

Curious 🤔

I've had my laptop for 8 years and it's still functioning properly with the exception of the battery. I've noticed it dies way faster. Thankfully, I only use it for general tasks and nothing demanding. I wonder how many more years it will last.

Computer working again

For a while now my computer kept randomly restarting. Been like that since the Fiona storm cut the power. Well now I got it fixed, which is good. Got a uninterrupted power supply (UPS), so I hope that prevents that happing again. 💻 Needed it for a computer course starting soon. (edited)

Made my own Network-wide adblocker DNS server

Using Pihole and Docker, this program blocks all in-website ads automatically when you connect to my wifi. No adblocker extension or program needed.

Keeping my Money

Started having overheating issues so I replaced the thermal pads and paste on my ASUS 2080 Super OC. No issues since and now I don't need to participate in a ridiculous market. Runs the ES Oblivion Remaster no problem.

Adding to my collection

Found on Craigslist 3Dfx Voodoo 3 2000 pci 16mb 6ns sdram. Base clock is 143mhz but it will definitely do 166mhz and maybe higher. I think most V3 2k pci come with sgram rated for 7ns.

Got a good deal on these. If I ever find a voodoo 3 3500 that's missing cable I'll be set. RadioShack gamepad is the same as a Saitek x6-m33. Should be good for some Dos gaming. My main retro PC has a corrupted HD so I'll be looking at my storage options.
