Could I make a career from metal detecting
Or magnet fishing, and selling the antiques? I love historical items and can't find a job for the "uneducated."

Possibly. I can't imagine commonly found items would be worth much but you may get lucky and get something valuable, but that's not a consistent income. You may be able to market the items you find in such a way that increases their value artificially, like swing them as "antique, historical" etc and sell them on a place like etsy. You could also try to restore or clean them up start a YouTube channel showing your process for each item. There are channels that do antique restorations and get like millions of views.

I don’t see why not… you could magnet fish, and metal detect for people on their property at a daily rate. Many people are curious to know what’s below their historical property, and in the rest of the time do your own finding to collect valuables that you can sell when you sell just make sure you tell them how you found it in case it was an item that was reported stolen. It will require working a job to pay bills until things are steady.
