What we have here is a gentle reminder from above that life is way more than our to-do lists, diets, or outfits. It’s a divine nudge to zoom out and see the bigger picture: that we’re more than our cravings, more than our closets. Rather than worry about it, Have confidence and a positive outlook. Worrying about something will not get us to our destination, But moving forward while looking at the grander picture will. Chopping onions can make a person cry, But they sure taste good when you eat them on a Pizza later on 😌

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how differently people define depth in different cultures by interacting with people from the US, and that’s so interesting 🤔

In my Russian culture, being a deep person often means carrying a certain emotional weight - a tendency to reflect, to feel things intensely, sometimes even tragically. Depth is connected to pain, poetry, philosophy. It’s someone who sees the soul behind the smile, the storm behind the silence.

But in the US, I’ve noticed that depth is often about self-awareness. It’s about emotional intelligence, the ability to be vulnerable without romanticizing pain, and a commitment to inner growth. Being “deep” in this context means being grounded, conscious, and intentional - not necessarily dramatic or melancholic as we Russians tend to be.

Two very interesting but different perspectives

So I’m curious what does depth mean to you? Or maybe you’ve noticed some interesting differences in how people from different cultures experience or express “depth”? I’d love to hear your thoughts! 💭
