Beneath the Smile
You're drawn by smiles that dance upon my face, But do you know the tales they hide within? Beneath the laughter lies a darker space, Where shadows dance and memories begin. I am no beauty, fair and bright, But of the shadows that lurk within the night. I yearn for you to see the flaws I bear, The broken pieces that I've learned to wear. Will you still find me lovely, with flaws and all, If I reveal the darkness, will you stand tall? Can you embrace the scars that mar my skin, And love the woman that lies deep within? For it's not just the smiles that make me me, But the scars, the flaws, the imperfections you see. And if you love me for all that I am, Together we'll weather life's storms, and damn. We'll forge a love that's stronger, truer still, With every flaw embraced, every shadow's thrill. So let me show you all that I conceal, And in that vulnerability, let our love reveal. #love #poetry #poetrywriting #writing (edited)
