In the late 2000s there was a SciFi show filmed in Canada, but was also shown in the US.. I don't remember the plot, I think it was related to aliens.. there were portals too. Like airports but you'd just go through the portal and immediately end up in another country. And there was a cute nerdy black guy on there, I think he had a robot girlfriend, or maybe she was AI that he programmed himself, and in one season he was captured and was put in suspended animation in these tubes.. a saline solution. He was NOT the main character. There were multiple seasons. I believe it was a popular show. Anyone know what it was called? I want to watch it again 😆

Visit to an alien cafe...

You were traveling the space and your ship docked at a little space station orbiting a friendly alien planet. The crew decided to pay a visit to a local cafe. While all the meals here are certified for human consumption, alien food might taste a little unexpected. What would you order?

Jell-O with a cheese and cream taste. For some reason it has a bright ultramarine colour.

Toffee that tastes like chicken with some unfamiliar spices.

Alien attempt to recreate pasta with tomato sauce. "Made from human manufactured food"

A famous local dish: a plate of various local vegetables/seafood with different dipping sauces.
