Going to a show today

Sometimes to cope with loneliness I go to the nearest cinema to only find I'm being the only soul to watch the movie. Is the movie that bad or am I just cursed to be alone?

Já faz um tempinho, mas eu precisava falar: que adaptação incrível de Wicked! Confesso que não estava com a expectativa tão alta, mas a experiência foi tão surreal que acabou com qualquer chance do filme me agradar depois. Fiquei o tempo todo comparando e, sério, o teatro ganha de lavada! kkkkk 🎭💚

It's been a while, but I needed to say: what an incredible adaptation of Wicked! I confess I wasn't expecting much, but the experience was so surreal that it ruined any chance of the movie pleasing me afterward. I kept comparing the whole time and, seriously, the theater wins hands down! kkkkk 🎭💚

INTO THE WOODS

Anyone like a good musical? The most recent i saw was Cabaret with Orville Peck as the MC, that man is handsome without his mask gimmick, not to mention where I sat, he really was making some serious eye contact with me, maybe I was imagining it, put pretty sure that man looked right where I sat and did not lose focus.  Another good musical is Hadestown,  I saw that 3 times in the past 3 years. Once in broadway, two others a tour

Musical Theater appreciation

Today was the first time I went to a show produced by the theatre group I started and ran for seven years since I walked away from them last October.

Oddly unemotional, but kind of confirmed that I made the right choice. They're doing well, producing the sort of facile, shallow, crowd-pleasing plays that I'd go crazy from boredom directing myself. A bit awkward meeting my old colleagues after the show--them asking me what I thought, and me admitting that it was fine, but just not my sort of thing.

I wish them well, but the itch is still there. I just have to find a venue and audience that will vibe with the kind of productions that I enjoy directing...

I thought about any actor who would play Dionysus, and I immediately thought about Adam Sandler. So, I suggested it to the director, picked out pieces that made me look like a grumpy, overworked camp counselor, and came up with this. Even after a few months later, I still think Mr. D was probably my best role ever.
