It's late and I am bored

What do you all think is the most interesting thing to learn about and/or read about? I'll start first. My favorite thing to learn about is the history of software and software tampering like malware, Trojan horses and stuff of the sort and how we utilized our tactics to draw out the originator… read more

Just watched "The Odyssey" and I'm disappointed over the ending

Spoilers for *The Odyssey* and some Greek myth traditions! I usually avoid discussing this subject these days (reconstructing the Trojan Cycle was actually the focus of my college thesis), but I wanted to explain why the ending of the movie left me disappointed. Most people know the best-known… read more

GTA

So glad I'm not one of those people that mindlessly consumes a product. People say "no disc, no buy" but cave when it's a game they want. I was looking forward to GTA 6 too but it's been years. Bumping the prices and taking away physical copies doesn't really make it appeal to me that much. It's… read more

Love Letter to Dark Souls (a 15 minute ramble essay)

Legend of Zelda was such an important game series for me as an over thinker who always wanted to know the right thing to do. The world of Zelda provided clear answers and unquestioned objective morality. It gave me a mission. It gave me landmarks. It gave me a compass. It said, go here and do this.… read more

I hate Pleasantville, Footloose and to an extent, The Dead Poet's Society. Don't get me twisted. The art, music and acting are beautiful. The stories are fanciful Trojan horses.

Ithaca

the island of King Odysseus... Odysseus, son of Laertes and Anticleia, was a Greek hero and the king of the island of Ithaca. The Disrespect of Diomedes

I just wanted to say that I think Diomedes does not get the respect he deserves from modern readers of the Iliad. Let's look at some highlights: - He's one of Athena's two favorites. Odysseus is the other, of course. But I'm just saying Athena never drove Odysseus' chariot. Bonus: although… read more

Trojan dog)))

Have you ever heard of the Greek hero Bophades?

He was one of the heroes who fought in the Trojan War. His story is similar to the story of Achilles. When he was a child, his mother held him by the groin and dipped him in the river Styx, as to make him invincible in battle. However, just like Achilles, he had a weak spot. Because his mother held… read more

Pseudo-sublimation

Hm... How to frame this thought... A thing's being exhiliratingly fun or hilariously funny shouldn't necessarily be the determining factor in whether or not it's deemed acceptable to carte blanche do or say. (Where's that damn clown emoji...? 🤡☻ There we go.) Weaponized humor, e.g., like a… read more

A mouth shut Voice locked away Smile and nod With a pretty face Remain perfect Torn to shreds It makes no difference In the end Let down your guard Invite them in Trojan horses Filled to the brim Right is wrong Pain a given A worthy cause? They're still convincing
