Idea for a campaign: Promises of Faith
**———————****———————****———————** Wanting a group that is okay with a first time DM. I’m not going to put this story on rails, I want it to build based on the actions of the characters from the starting point I provide. Please be willing to adhere to the restrictions on magic, it is not to nerf parties or players but to create a different dynamic in role playing and problem solving. **———————****———————****———————** *craft your characters and backstory with the knowledge that Magic is shunned in this world unless it comes from the Divine. Feel free to create any character class from official sources but the world may not be friendly to you and keep that in mind for your backstory. Think Jedis post order 66 or something similar to that. You can USE magic in public spaces but it’s likely to go against you in the long run. If you’re clever, you’ve devised ways of hiding your spell casting. Also those of divine powers are branded by their deity so all who see them know them for their power. Gaining levels in magic classes will require acquiring knowledge from a source—to be explained later* Many years ago magic was the lifeblood of the world. Society flourished because of the ease in which day-to-day activities were accomplished. It was commonplace and powerful. The people of this bygone era overstepped their mortal limits and created a cataclysm that nearly destroyed the world. Records and artifacts of this time are scarce. The collective memory lingers only that magic is self destructive and should not be allowed to flourish ever again. *low magic setting with a potential for powerful relics.(very rare)* For whatever your each individual motivations you’ve all found yourself in the employ of a local militia captain, Terek Baillan, in the town of Erdenhal who has sent out a call for explorers and adventurers, and any sort willing to risk an awful death, in pursuit of the legends of lost magical relics——to destroy the last vestiges of that which caused so much destruction. … You begin in Erdenhall surrounded by your company as assignments are being handed out. *Speak with DM to discuss backgrounds, motivations, and individual goals and interests. Use your creativity to the fullest for your backstory and it will be incorporated into world lore. Keep in mind all races are seen equally as neutral. There are good people and bad people but no one race is seen as inherently evil—ie Don’t be surprised if you have orcs and dwarves serving together underneath a dark elf lordling. Keep to humanoid characters and not animals please. If you’re playing an anthropomorphic animal that’s one thing, but not a base squirrel or dog. Create cities and people and organizations all you want in your background but don’t create a background incompatible to a level 1 character, you’re not a legend…yet.* If a player does decide to have a magical class, it is possible that another player in the group have a character who is opposed to magic users, as they may be a product of the world and despise them as much as others. I do not want “conflict” among the players but occasional checks against player characters from one another may be permissible. No one will be able to take autonomy away from another PC but self preservation may require fast talking and a little stretched truths. (edited)

I can totally relate
I couldn't get a final kill even when I'm mounted on top of BBEG and try to stake his heart with Gondreel Scimitar. And I still missed. Help 😭😭😭

I forgot Gondreel had invisibility and pass without Trace casted on him, the DragonBorn Fighter
That he died from getting hit 3 times by an Ent and after pointing it out, rewinds all the hit and got hit 24 damaged instead of 75. And he never deals damaged at all today. I made such horrible take (edited)
