So I feel I have been nerdy for as long as I can remember but I had any nerdy friends or been part of a friend group that was in to similar things as myself. So consequently I have never really played any table top or trading card games. I have never played Dungeons and Dragons though I have been interested in it for as long as I have known it was a thing. Just curious if it is even reasonable to look for someone or some group on here to teach me how to play and get me started. Also wonderimg how much of a time commitment it would be as I am a single father so it's hard for me to "dedicate" time to anything. I'm guessing I would have to sacrifice time from some of my other interests. I am central time USA.

As someone with little time finding a group online may be best. As for finding one the most common recommendation is the D&D forums or r/lfg and other D&D boards on Reddit. Some Discords exist as well. Just look for beginner friendly group. As for learning. I'm sure people here can answers questions but I also recommend YouTube guides. Some that give step by step on how to build a character and go from there.

By far my favorite dice I have, THE CHICKEN SET

My favorite set of dice are the chicken set I received from my friend on my birthday! I have an affinity for chickens and this cute set has a chicken in the D20, an egg in the D4, and all the other dice contain baby chicks. Needless to say, I’ve had the biggest smile on my face.
