I've never lived in an area as populated as LA county. I gotta say, not a fan so far. It's been around a month and a half now, and I still have no clue what I'm doing outside. I have been approached a few times by people, but I'm ummm.... Stupid. So not much happened with those few. Approaching a stranger in public feels uncomfortable. Approaching a stranger in LA feels gross. The vibe/expectations of being a cis-male in LA, and looking.... How I do. Creates an akward dynamic of people thinking I'm hitting on them when I just want a friend. I'm not sure how many other people walk around populated areas of a city for hours on end hoping something interesting happens, but it's demoralizing to say the least. I recommend anyone try it, and I hope their attempts are more fruitful. I get wonderful ideas for writing from people watching, but I also feel even lonelier than before I left after seeing so many other people with friends. Never been good at making friends, gotta do better in the future. What's a confusing/interesting question a woman could walk up and say to you? My go to atm is "Who and what are you?" I like when people question the what.
