I think what so many people dont understand, i was one of them, is that scripture says ‘Love thy neighbor AS thyself.’ Yes, we are to deny our sinful nature for that of God, but we are to still love ourselves. Growing up I was taught that loving yourself was selfish and sinful. God tells us to love ourselves and to love others just like we love ourselves. I think a lot of our problem as people is that we have forgotten how, or told not to do that. I’m a firm believer that we can’t love others of we can’t love ourselves, and we can’t properly love ourselves until we understand the love that Jesus has for us. Once we know the LOVE of Christ, he is our focus, our reason for being, and everything else falls into place. Regardless of what is going on in our lives. The joy, light, and love of Christ compells us to love others and ourselves like he loves us. Great message! (edited)
