Help me settle an argument: how do you pronounce "bury"?

My brother and I have been talking about this. He pronounces it like, "berry" but the rest of the family says, "bur-ree". English is our family's native language, but we're from Hawaii and maybe it's just a Hawaii thing 🤷‍♀️ How do you pronounce this word? P.S. Also my first time posting here. Hi everyone!

Apparently in English it tends to come from a Philly accent. I'm not in Philadelphia and have always preferred the bury, as in, rhymes with furry.

Dialect can vary quite a bit, so I would argue both are correct. Here in the Midwest, my family would pronounce it “berry”, but I’m sure you could go a bit south, or even across the pond, and find a solid mix of both.
