Canadian Thanksgiving

We made beef pho!

(Proud Canadian) Alberta gal lookin for likeminded folks!

I can do both! I love to fish, grew up in a non-squeamish hunting family, and love to be out in the woods enjoying nature/looking for creatures! But I also love my chill days in, watching horror movies, or other media ^^ All I ask is you’re not a jackass! Sepratists need not apply, but I think… read more

Annoying Accent

So I know i have possibly the most annoying accent in the us because its not American, its not Canadian, its not even Hispanic. I sound British thanks to foreign accent syndrome. I have been dealing with it for 2 months and all I can say is. I guess its just another reason im the worst.

The right to be

This summer I had a planter box which didn't sprout anything. It stayed empty and then a weed showed up. Canadian horseweed. It's not particularly pretty but it's strong and grows tall fast. I've been debating yanking it out since it's a weed. But it's not harming anything in the planter box and I… read more

My First (And Only Past) Relationship Was a Canon Event

I was a plain Jane back in the day. On three occasions, I had the guts to confess to people I was attracted to, only to get rejected. I found myself becoming insecure because I wanted to be in a relationship but no one really paid attention to me (even when I held significant positions in student… read more

If I told you there's a building with zero 90-degree corners, would you believe me?

The Canadian Museum of History in Ottawa was designed with flowing curves because Indigenous traditions hold that bad spirits dwell in sharp corners. Whether it's symbolism, spirituality, or simply brilliant design, it's one of those details you'll never forget once you notice it.

When i was a kid, i thought bed bugs were as fictional as house hippos.

House hippos are from an old canadian psa or whatever, to teach people to think more about what they see and fact check. Ironically, that was lost on me, because i thought bed bugs were made up just because of that one jingle, "good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite".

Gloire éternelle

The album by the Canadian neoclassical/technical death metal band from Quebec, entitled "First Fragment," is a combination of classical motifs and powerful guitar and especially bass guitar solos. It's something incredible, I highly recommend listening to it — 10/10.
