The way they end up surprising themselves and others, sure (🤷🏽‍♀️) but the fact they are surprised is even better for me..
It's not about showing off. I tend to lose respect, then. I don't really believe in vengeful, mindsets. It's about embracing and accepting yourself.

Especially (!) since so many doubt their own strength, in real life.

Do you have a plot you enjoy, like that?

One of my favourite plots in superhero movies is when someone seemingly powerless turns out to be a lot more powerful than they are..

May be a juvenile PoV but who doesn't enjoy that?!

Everytime I watch a new movie it feels like it's missing a big climactic ending. I'll be enjoying the story and seeing where things could go crazy for the final act and then BOOM! end credits..... Not very cool. And I still love these movies because they were a fun time but they just have lackluster endings. I'm assuming it's because everyone wants to setup a potential sequel but I don't care about potential future installments if you can't even stick the landing on the movie I'm watching. Am I going crazy on this or do any of you feel the same way?

A friend from work let me borrow this movie. Crazy I’ve never seen it before. A Lot of Great Actors and I didn’t know Michael Bay Directed it until his Trademark style kicked in the last 45 Mins of the Movie, hahaha.

The Island

This is the 50th anniversary of the release of "Jaws". In my estimation, it's dang near a perfect movie. I know some people think of it as a horror movie, but I think of it as a cautionary tale about what happens when man and nature uneasily coexist together. Also, it's about what happens when government values  revenue over safety. One of the best disaster movies where a local official doesn't pay heed to others, including scientists.

There is also a retrospective documentary on Hulu called "Jaws at 50". Turns out, it was almost cinema icon Steven Speilberg's last film -- nothing went right and he had a lot of personal struggles.
